Internet has become a major contributor to the global economy. Internet economy is the fastest growing business both globally and nationally in Finland. Until now the direct economic effects of the internet have been clearly visible in the ICT area, but we are beginning to witness these effects also in other industries and in the public sector. By the end of the decade, internet and digitalization will have transformed all industries and the public sector.
The ICT sector has reached a stage where its contribution is strongly involved in the wide range of systemic changes - in industry structure or in the area of public governance. New digital services will be the main vehicle to deliver the value to the users and the concrete outcome of such systemic changes. With this in mind, TIVIT has chosen to make systemic changes the theme of our annual Foresight seminar, to be held at Helsinki’s Finlandia Hall on 7.11.2012.
